A language is something you do with other people
You can learn grammar alone. You cannot learn to hold a conversation alone, because a conversation needs someone who might misunderstand you. That is what a group gives you, and it costs less than doing it one-to-one.
Someone to speak with
You practise with classmates rather than only with a teacher who already understands your accent, your mistakes and what you meant to say. Hearing others get it wrong is half the learning.
The same structured curriculum
Groups follow the four-level Al-Ain Series used in our private lessons, taught by the same qualified teachers. Nothing about the content is a lighter version.
A noticeably lower rate
The cost of expert teaching is shared across the class, which is what makes a long programme like 240 hours per level realistic on a normal budget.

Group, pair or private — an honest comparison
A group is not simply the cheap option, and private is not simply the good option. They are different tools. Here is what each one actually gives you and gives up.

How you actually end up in a group
The most common question we get about group courses is not about the syllabus. It is: is there a class at my level right now, and when does it start?
You take a placement check
A short written and spoken assessment tells us which level you belong in — and therefore which group you could join.
We match you to a class
Either one that is running and still has a seat, or one that is forming. We will tell you honestly which of the two it is.
The group starts together
Once three students at the same level agree on a schedule, the class begins and the weekly slot is fixed.
And if there is no group at your level yet?
- 1Join the forming list. We tell you how many students are waiting at your level and roughly how long it usually takes to fill.
- 2Start private and transfer later. Many students begin one-to-one, then move into a group when one opens at their level. Nothing is lost — the curriculum is the same.
- 3Bring your own pair. If you know someone at a similar level, the pair rate starts immediately without waiting for anyone else.

What a group class is actually like
Small enough that you talk
Classes stay between three and six students, so everyone gets speaking practice and direct feedback in every session. This is not a lecture hall, and nobody hides at the back.
Classmates at your level
The placement check means everyone in the room starts from roughly the same place, so the pace genuinely fits the class rather than splitting it into the bored and the lost.
A steady weekly rhythm
Fixed sessions, homework and review built around a shared schedule. The rhythm is the point: a group carries you through the weeks when your own motivation dips.

Every group follows the same curriculum as our private track, aligned with ACTFL and CEFR descriptors, from complete beginner to academic fluency.

Getting the most out of a group course
- 1Take the placement seriously. Starting a level too high is uncomfortable for you and slows the whole class. An honest placement makes the pace right for everyone.
- 2Show up consistently. A group moves together. Missing sessions means catching up on your own, and it costs your classmates the practice partner they expected.
- 3Practise between sessions. Twenty minutes with a text or a news bulletin keeps you level with the group's momentum instead of quietly falling behind it.
- 4Speak before you are ready. The students who improve fastest in a group are not the most accurate ones. They are the ones willing to be wrong out loud.

Group rates fall further as your weekly hours rise, so an intensive group course costs less per hour than a light one.

Before you join a group
How many students are in a class?
Between three and six. Three is the minimum for a group to run; six is the ceiling, because above that the speaking time per student drops too far to be worth it.
What if there is no group at my level right now?
We will say so plainly rather than put you in the wrong class. You can join the list for a forming group, start private lessons and transfer across when one opens, or bring a friend at a similar level and start immediately at the pair rate.
Will the class be too fast or too slow for me?
That is what the placement check prevents. Everyone in the room starts at roughly the same level. If it still turns out to be a poor fit after a few sessions, tell us and we will move you.
Can I join a group that has already started?
Sometimes, if a seat is free and the group has not moved far past your level. We will be honest about how much catching up it would mean rather than let you join and struggle.
What happens if I miss a session?
The class continues without you, and your teacher will tell you what was covered. Group lessons cannot be rescheduled individually, which is the one real trade-off against private study.
Are online groups as good as in person?
Same curriculum, same teachers, same class size. Online groups work well for speaking practice, and they let students in different countries share a class. Online lessons run 9:00 to 21:00 Amman time.
Can I switch to private lessons later?
Yes, at any point, and the other way round too. The curriculum is identical, so nothing is lost in the move.
What does a group course cost?
Group rates are the lowest we offer and fall further with more weekly hours. There is also a one-time registration fee of JD 15. The full table is on our prices page.
